After two shootings early 2023, seven Israeli citizens were killed, and dozens wounded. The Israeli government leapt into a nationwide effort to strengthen security by promoting the use of firearms, for personal protection. Israel’s National Security Minister responded to the shooting by saying, “I want weapons on the streets. I want Israeli citizens to be able to protect themselves.” In an average month the Israeli government will issue about 2000-gun licenses, but over the last three months that number has more than doubled in a government supported terrorist prevention. Just like the United States of America; Israeli gun owners believe that guns are not the problem, but rather the solution.
Unlike the U.S. the Israeli gun law require citizens to:
● Universal Background Check
● A Doctor’s Sign off
● Documented Gun training
● An interview
● A reason you need extra Security
● Only 1 handgun with less than 50 bullets
A recurring issue of Palestinian terror attacks Provokes National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvirto promise the issue of 5x as many licenses per month.
Current plan presented by Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir
● Shortening wait times
● Doubling staff assigned to license department
● No interview required for any Firefighter, Military and Police
● Vigilante justice
● Community Security Association
